Third time’s a charm? After a somewhat lackluster first two episodes, I was really hoping that this one would bring us the drama. I’m also realistic and wasn’t going in with the highest of expectations but come on, I need more than this! Bring back Brandi and Kim, Bravo!
When we left off last week, all of the ladies were wrapping up their Vegas trip and everyone was seemingly getting along. Now we’re back in Beverly Hills, and unfortunately for me we start off with Dorit and PK. Dorit fills PK in on her getting along with Erika and Rinna, because PK wants to know if he should invite Rinna to her birthday that he has planned coming up. PK of course says not to include Rinna but his opinion means nothing to his wife or anyone else.
Next we’re over at Kyle’s, a much easier territory for my emotional sanity than Dorit’s, and we see all of the renovations she has going on. It’s strange because she’s talking about how they’re remodeling their house because they couldn’t find a new house to buy, yet we’ve seen in the press recently that they bought a new house. Hopefully we end up in the new house by the end of the season.
Then we go to lunch with Teddi and Rinna where they discuss the Vegas trip. We’re treated to an amazing flashback of Rinna telling Eden that Kim’s close to death when Rinna’s talking about how she opens up to people too quickly. HI EDEN! Teddi says she really likes Rinna even though she’s been warned about her. Teddi also continues to beat a dead horse (no pun intended) when talking about her not being bougie. We get it Teddi, you’re just a down home bitch. She invites Rinna to her upcoming horse show where some of the other ladies will be attending as well. Pretty boring lunch overall.
Over at Sur, we see LVP prepping for Dorit’s birthday dinner. We switch back to Dorit’s and are gifted by the sound of that monster, PK, singing Happy birthday. Then again at Sur, Teddi is first to arrive, followed shortly after by Rinna and Erika. We hear Teddi’s husband Edwin talk more than a few words for the first time and I quickly realized why we haven’t heard him talk more than a few words. He’s…interesting. Dorit and PK finally arrive and not a second after does the lovely Camille Grammer. At dinner, PK sweetly brings out Jagger all jazzed up in a suit and I have to admit he looks adorable. Then when Jagger is sitting down, Jagger responds to being introduced to Erika by saying “bad guy”, which has just the right amount of irony to it. We quickly move on, and Teddi’s husband then let’s it slip that he used to be a background dancer. This starts dialogue between Teddi and Erika, and Teddi tells her that she felt uncomfortable in Vegas after the dad comment. Erika apologizes and again, we move on. And finally, Rinna stands up to make a speech in honor of Dorit yet she makes it mostly about herself, which is why I love Rinna, and I guess the gesture it was mattered.
Next we’re with Erika and her ghostwriter, Brian Moylan, whom I know from a podcast I actually really like him, I’d just like to note. Erika talks about how when her dad first reached out it was Thanksgiving, which is an interesting choice for a first meeting. At that dinner, Erika heard someone say that her dad told people he didn’t have any kids which for one: explains a lot, and two: is just plain sad. Erika also opens up about her ex-husband for the first time on her show and talks about how she’s in frequent contact with him.
Then we head back to Villa Rosa where we see LVP mopping? Not a sight I’d ever thought I’d see but I’m not mad at it. Not in the slightest. Rinna and Dorit come to meet her to head to Teddi’s horse show. Also just want to note that it was at this time that I was wondering where the hell Kyle has been all episode and I remembered she was off on her European excursion. Bitch. On the bus on the way to the horse show, Dorit, Rinna and LVP all getting along and actually laugh together and I’ll admit that I don’t mind this grouping together. I’ve alway liked Rinna and LVP together when they’re getting along because it’s fun and light and kind of a two man comedy show (kind of).
At the horse stables we check in with Teddi before her competition where she fills us in on information we did not need and that I do not care about. Teddi, I simply don’t care about you. Please go away and bring back Eileen.
We see LVP, Dorit and Rinna arrive where they’re a bit out of their element, fashion wise. Everyone settles in for the show to start, where Teddi seems to do a nice job and that’s the only nice thing I’ll say about her tonight. She actually came in.. first place.
We then get back with Erika who’s facetiming to her mom about the book. She presses her mom about anything she think might be great to add to Erika’s book, and we get a sweet scene of her mom telling stories about Erika’s childhood before things get a bit deeper when they talk about Erika’s father again. Her mom offers to send her pictures of him for her book, to which she politely but assertively declines. To quote her last season in Hong Kong, “I’m not here for that shit”.
Later we’re at Dorit’s house where her and an assistant are unpacking kitchenware and china for a dinner party she’s hosting for Teddi and Edwin. Not my favorite coupling to see for a dinner party. Not my favorite at all. It also hits me in this moment that Teddi and Edwin remind me of Kathryn and Donnie, and we all saw where that ended up. R.I.P Kathryn (She’s not dead but she got the boot so she is on the show). Teddi and Edwin show up at Dorit’s, where they sit down and start talking about more kids. Teddi delves into her IVF journey and explains that she had a rather difficult procedure with her son where he had no heartbeat when he was born. Thankfully, he miraculously made it, but that’s definitely scary to deal with. Feel for you on that one, Teddi. PK then in a very tone deaf manner, compares Teddi’s sons birth to a kid coming out with a conehead and, god I hate him.
Next we head over to Rinna’s where she’s facetiming with Rinna, which she must be contractually obligated to do since she’s not filming the trip, which how is she not obligated to film? Anyways, they discuss PK’s birthday dinner for Dorit and Rinna assures Kyle that everything went smoothly and she’s not lying, much to my dismay.
Back at Dorit’s dinner, PK starts to get messy by filling Teddi and Edwin in on the going ons of last year. He explains how after Rinna left the dinner last year, she came out with the coke accusation after they left her all alone at the dinner table. Dorit then let’s it slip that PK thinks Rinna is schizophrenic. And now I’m somewhat thankful for this dinner because here we go setting up a feud between Rinna and Dorit again. I knew those fraudulent tricks hadn’t moved on.
And that concludes the episode! Next week we see Rinna and Erika in Tokyo which I can’t wait for! We also see Dorit shouting obscenities at Camille and THAT is what I’ve been tuning in for. Until then!
